Here’s how the sizzle unfolded…

With the sultry heat and humidity of tropical Miami in the air (and in the hair!), 30 local Latina and Afro-Latina editors and influencers gathered for an evening that celebrated both heritage and heart – along with the beauty of proudly showcasing all kinds of curls. The quintessential backdrop for this magic? Nikki Beach Restaurant and Beach Club – a hidden Miami beachfront gem, nestled on the ocean in iconic South Beach.

It was the perfect setting for this multi-cultural community to proudly own the lush opulence of their curls, and an opportunity to experience a whole new way to nurture curly hair with confidence. With cocktails flowing, tastes of the town on the table, and the strains of lively Miami music playing in the background, our guests bonded with Joico’s dream team of curl specialists and exciting Latina influencers in Miami’s media/beauty community. Together, the group talked, confessed, and reveled in the unique beauty and heritage of their hair.

Our star of the night…

This celebrated Latina hairstylist and beauty expert has a rock-solid reputation for creating transformations so stunning and artful, that she’s garnered a loyal client following of celebrities, influencers, and noted beauty enthusiasts. And, like every attendee who was in the room on this special night, Dafne is proud of her one-of-a-kind curls; and uses her unique position as a hair expert and Latina, to share her professional journey working with the multicultural community of Miami.

In celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, Dafne talked about learning to love and truly embrace her natural curls; as well as having a passion for this special hair type. Not surprisingly, she shared big excitement over Joico’s new Curls Like Us products, which she now uses to nurture, elevate, and showcase the glory of curly hair – her own, as well as that of her diverse Miami clientele.

Joico’s Dream Team helped bring the multi-cultural evening to life…

Joico Global Artistic Director, Richard Mannah

Unveiling the latest fall hair trend – the Curly Cloud with Bangs – Richard did a live cutting presentation in which he crafted the perfect curly fringe to compliment his Miami model’s face shape and hair texture.
