It’s time to add soft sparkle and shine to your color palette, Hi dolls! Larisa Love here for Joico. It’s time to get creative with new hair color that’s wearable and more modern, so I’m going to show you how to create this iridescent dust look using Joico’s new Color Intensity Pearl Pastel Shades. Follow Larisa Love’s signature pastel melt technique below to recreate the cover model look.

Technique
STEP 1:
Prelighten regrowth to level 10 with prelightening formula
Apply toning formula to hair and let process for 5 to 20 minutes, until an icy platinum silver tone is reached.
STEP 2:
Part the hair down the center and create three equal sections, on both sides of the head, that angle back down towards the nape of the neck.
STEP 3:
As a working tip, braid each of the 6 sections, 3 on each side, for more control and easier working area.
STEP 4:
Start with the bottom third section and apply Joico Color Intensity Pearl Pastel Violet Pearl at the base and bring down about 3 inches.
STEP 5:
Divide the section in half with a thick weave. Using large weaved sections will create a bold, color blocked look.
STEP 6:
On the bottom half, apply Joico Color Intensity Pearl Pastel Silver Ice. Make sure to use your fingers to melt the two colors together seamlessly.
STEP 7:
On the top half, color melt Joico Color Intensity Pearl Pastel Rose Gold custom formula from shadow root color to ends.
STEP 8:
On the next section, apply Violet Pearl from roots to ends. Be sure to saturate the hair completely.
TIP: for compromised hair, spray Joico K-Pak HKP to prelightened hair to even out the porosity.
STEP 9:
Next, move onto the top section. Apply Violet Pearl to the base and bring the shadow root formula down in a teardrop shape. This should be applied deeper in the back and shorter in the front.
STEP 10:
Divide the top section in half horizontally with a large weave. This is going to help all the colors seamlessly blend together.
STEP 11:
On the bottom half, apply Joico Color Intensity Pearl Pastel Blush. Color melt the two shades together using your fingers.
STEP 12:
On the top half, apply Joico Color Intensity Pearl Pastel Silver Ice from shadow root to ends.
STEP 13:
Repeat the same process and colors on the other side
Let this process for 20 minutes and rinse with Joico KPAK Color Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner. Use Joico K-Pak Cuticle Sealer for added color longevity.
