Nailing the dimension:“The vibrance and richness comes from the depth, not the gloss,” says Melissa. “Notice in the formulas, below, that the most vibrant tone is in the gloss between the foils (a.k.a. depth.) The gloss at the end is simply to tone the blonde.”

Deep, dark secret:“Remember to go slightly darker and slightly more neutral with the root smudge or root color. Hot roots don’t happen in nature!”

Bring on the violets and roses:“Add a bit of violet or rose tone to your blonde gloss formula. This will allow your highlights to have warmth, but will soften the gold and prevent a harsh or brassy look.”
