MAKE SOME MILD WAVES...
“I absolutely love the look of these minimalist waves and they last for days,” says Mai. “I personally wear them pretty often – they’re versatile and simple enough that you can easily replicate the look at home and nail it!” What’s really special about this look? It’s a combo of two different styles of curls/waves, which lends an undone vibe that’s not too studied or formal. (And perfect, btw, for a fiesta!)
The prep: On damp hair, apply three pumps of Dream Blowout Protection Crème cocktailed with a drop of Blonde Life Oil Brilliant Glow Brightening Oil.
The blow-dry: Dry hair smoothly using a brush.
The heat protection: Spray Heat Hero Glossing Thermal Protector throughout hair.
Add the texture: In this look, you’ll create a combo of beach waves with ripple waves to keep things tousled looking.
• Section and clip up hair from about two inches behind your bangs (or the hair that frames your face), going all the way to the back (but not lower than the height of your ear).
• Now, using a curling iron, add loose, beachy waves to the hair that’s unclipped.
• Let down about two inches of the clipped-away hair and using a triple-barrel curling iron (also known as a mermaid iron), add ripple waves. Continue letting sections of hair down and creating ripple waves until you reach the top of your head. Remember, the more natural and undone, the better!
• For this last, top layer, you’ll alternate between beach waves and ripple waves.
• Add a bit of Beach Shake Texturizing Finisher throughout; followed by Power Spray Fast-Dry Finishing Spray for hold and shine.
