Vero K-Pak Permanent Color
FORMULA 2: 1½ oz (45 ml) Vero K-PAK Color 7V + ½ oz (15 ml) Vero K-PAK Color 5RM + 1 oz (30 ml) 7XR with 2 oz. (60ml) 30 Volume Veroxide (mid-lengths to ends)
FORMULA 3: 1 oz (30 ml) Vero K-PAK Chrome V7 with 1oz (30 ml) Activator (lowlight)
FORMULA 4: 1 oz (30 ml) Vero K-PAK Chrome RR with 1oz (30 ml) Activator (lowlight)
FORMULA 5: Blonde Life Lightening Powder with 20 Volume Veroxide (highlight)
FORMULA 6: 1½ oz (45 ml) Vero K-PAK Chrome V8 + ½ oz (15 ml) Vero K-PAK Chrome RRV with 2 oz (60 ml) Vero K-PAK Chrome Activator (glaze)
Technique
STEP 1: SHADOW ROOT
Section hair into four parts. Starting with an off-center part in the back , take 1/8-inch sections and apply Formula 1 all over the re-growth in a “global application.” Bring the color down 2-4 inches depending on hair’s length and cut.
STEP 2:
Once all the re-growth area is saturated with Formula 1, apply Formula 2 from the mid -lengths to ends. To avoid harsh lines, be sure to use your gloved fingers in a scissor motion to melt the two shades together at the point where they meet. Process color at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with K-PAK Color Therapy. Dry hair.
STEP 3: LOWLIGHT
Section he hair into four parts. Starting in the back left section, take a diagonal slice at the nape and leave it un-colored. Take a slice parting above the nape, then a small slice from the top of that section. Lay the small slice on foil and apply Formula 3 in a triangle with the point facing downward at the top of the foil. Then apply Formula 4 in a V
section to the rest of the hair through to the ends.
STEP 4: HIGHLIGHT
Continue this process for six slices, then take a weave section and apply Formula 5 to all the hair in the weave. This will be your highlight. Alternate between the lowlights and highlights until you reach the top of the section, ending with a lowlight on top. Repeat on the other side
STEP 5: LOWLIGHT & HIGHLIGHT
Take a diagonal slice along the hairline, weave out a section, then apply a highlight with Formula 5. Take a slice, leaving hair in between (behind the first section) and apply another highlight. Take a third slice, leaving hair in between, then apply the lowlight (triangle pointing downward) with Formula 3 and Formula 4 (in the V).
STEP 6: LOWLIGHT & HIGHLIGHT
Continue working your way upward alternating between highlights and lowlights, pivoting slices to follow the shape of the head. Repeat on the other side. Process for 15 minutes or until highlights reach desired lightness. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with K-PAK Color Therapy. Towel-dry hair.
STEP 7:
GLAZE: Apply Formula 6 to all hair, massaging into scalp, being sure to evenly saturate throughout lengths. Process for 10 minutes. Rinse, shampoo with K-PAK Color Therapy, then apply K-PAK Luster Lock Instant Shine and Repair Treatment.
