With Joico Celebrity Artist, Jill Buck, of 901 Salon

Curls are as different as snowflakes: No two are alike. And none are as easy and elegant to dupe as the dreamy new tendrils from Joico Celebrity Artist, Jill Buck, of LA’s Nine Zero One Salon. They’re perfect for the holidays; rely on just one key product; and you can nail them with a simple, tapered curling wand.

Don’t touch that plug! Before you even heat up your curling iron, you need to grab this must-have product.
You can have the longest, strongest hair; the hottest new curling tool, and all the best intentions in the world – but if you don’t protect your strands from the potential damage of a sizzling thermal styler, even the most beautiful curls in the world won’t stand a chance. That’s where Joico’s Heat Hero Glossing Thermal Protector comes in. This next-generation hair guardian that springs into action to protect each strand from the assault of thermal styling.

Here’s why you’ll love this breakthrough spray:

• While protecting hair from the damaging effect of heat stylers, Heat Hero imparts a luxurious, glossy sheen.
• It also locks out hair-dulling pollutants.
• It even has a heat-activated split-end mender that gets to work the minute you touch hair with a blow-dryer or thermal-styling tool.
• Heat Hero dials up the protection to 450 degrees!
• The easy-spray formula contains nourishing Moringa Seed Oil, to help create healthy, strong, damage-resistant hair.

Done? Okay…now on to Jill’s cool curls.
By now, you’ve likely mastered the ubiquitous beachy wave. But come holiday time, it’s fun to ratchet up the glam factor a few notches; and Jill’s new curl will do the trick. “Using a tapered barrel allows for volume at the base, and then delivers a tighter finished curl at the ends. It’s a simple technique that gives a different, much more voluminous result,” explains Jill, who starts by applying Heat Hero all over her hair.

From there, follow these easy steps:
• Create a middle part and clip crown hair up and out of the way.
• Brush each section of hair thoroughly.
• Holding your tapered wand in an inverted position, start wrapping hair from the top (wide part) of the barrel down, leaving out the very ends.
• Continue curling hair section by section, all the way around your head.
• Next, unclip crown hair and follow the same steps until that hair is curled as well. Note: You’ll notice that hair is curlier towards the ends and straighter towards the crown – that’s the brilliance of the tapered wand. It creates a super-flattering “triangle” of volume exactly where you need it, without looking overdone.
• Tousle with fingers and get ready for a sparkling celebration!
