Finding ways to reduce your carbon footprint – walking, hopping on your bike, even carpooling to work – can help reduce emissions that cause pollution and ultimately contribute to global warming.
GO PAPERLESS
While supporting brick-and-mortar stores is important to the local economy, you can knock down waste by unsubscribing to snail-mail catalogs, bills, and junk mail. What’s the bennie? You’ll reduce your contribution to the 100 million trees that are cut down each year to produce all that unnecessary paper.

Joico is proud to be an EPA Green Power Partner. Around the world, we are focused on sustainability, including resource efficiency and contributing to climate protection: Our Vero K-PAK Color, LumiShine Color, and Blonde Life hair color tubes are packed in paperboard cartons made from 100% recycled fiber. These paperboard cartons have been diverted from the waste stream, and are 100% recyclable. Our plastic bottles for Joico’s shampoos and various sprays are proudly manufactured in-house and in the U.S.A. at our Beauty Care Hair Professional Manufacturing plant in Geneva, New York, and use up to 25% post-consumer recycled materials (PCR).
REACH FOR A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE
Want to put to push back on the 1.5 million barrels of oil that it takes to manufacture throwaway water bottles every year? Consider buying a reusable container for your beverage, rather than contributing to the 80 percent that end up in U.S. landfills. (And here’s a statistic that will give you pause: Studies show that it takes 1,000 years for a single plastic bottle to decompose.) That said, we’re big proponents of staying hydrated – it’s good for skin and good for hair; just consider investing in a kinder, gentler vessel.
