THE ROPE-BRAIDED PONY
With Joico Global Artistic Director, Richard Mannah
Now you see it…now you don’t! That’s the magic of this new Rope-Braided Ponytail from Joico Global Artistic Director, Richard Mannah: It starts as a simple pony; morphs into a braid; then twists into a ballroom-inspired bun that’s seriously elegant and extra.

Let’s get started

Step 1: Prep hair with Body Shake for texture and control.
Step 2: Smooth hair into a loose ponytail. Secure with an elastic.
Step 3: Divide the pony into two sections, and twist down to the ends, creating a rope-braid effect.
Step 4: Next, coil the twist into a bun shape at the back of the head and secure with bobby pins.
Step 5: Spray JoiMist Medium onto a toothbrush to clean up flyaways in the nape area.
Step 6: Apply Tint Shot Brown (if you’re brunette) to fill in finer areas and give the illusion of thicker hair.
