Her textured fairytale gown was the inspo:
A cascading, ombré vision of delicate, fluttering pink-and-purple petals set the tone for Halsey’s hair – which is naturally curly. “We like working with her natural texture,” explains Florido, who opted to fashion those tendrils into an updo “for something a little more refined, chic, and fun.” A look he coins, “natural elegance.”
All play and no work:
“I truly enjoy working with Halsey,” says Florido. “She super-creative and always pushes the boundaries…she likes to change it up, and that makes it fun to me as a hairstylist.”
The look unfolded in a group chat:
To harmonize Halsey’s hairstyle with her gown and makeup, the creative team had a brainstorming group chat, where they collectively came up with ideas and inspiration.
And here’s how the hair happened:
Step 2: Towel-dry the hair and apply Defy Damage Protective Shield from roots to ends.
Step 3: Using a blow-dryer with diffuser attachment to enhance curly texture.
Step 4: Once completely dry, refine curls by applying Flip Turn Volumizing Finishing Spray onto hair, and wrapping tiny sections around a Hot Tools 5/8-inch curling iron to “control the frizzy bits.”
Step 5: Gather the hair into a high pony, and on the last loop, don’t pull all the way through. Instead, turn the ends to the front of the hair and pin into place.
Step 6: Finish the look and add holding power with another application of Flip Turn Volumizing Finishing Spray.
